Guy Schott, P.E.

Guy Schott holds Bachelors and Masters of Science in Civil Engineering, and has over 23 years experience in the drinking water industry working with utilities, consulting engineers, and regulatory agencies. In his time with the California State Water Resources Control Board, Drinking Water Program, he served on its Water Treatment Committee which reviews and approves all new treatment technologies accepted in California, evaluated proposed treatment processes, and commented on proposed State and Federal regulations. He has developed software applications for the water industry that are used throughout the United States. In addition, he developed a state-of-the-art corrosion control evaluation program, "Water!Pro" that is sold and used nationally and internationally by consulting engineers, water utilities, and other state agencies. He has presented papers at the WQTC on corrosion control and enhanced coagulation and has made presentations at AWWA conferences on tracer studies and filter surveillance techniques.

Guy has provided training to regulatory agencies, utilities and consulting engineers on filter surveillance techniques, corrosion control, enhanced coagulation, tracer studies, and state and federal regulations. He is a registered Professional Engineer and holds California T5 water treatment operator and D2 distribution operator certificates. He currently works for the California State Water Resources Control Board in its Drinking Water Regulatory program

 

 

Bruce Burton, P.E.

Bruce Burton holds Bachelors of Science degree in Ocean Engineering and a Masters of Engineering degree in Civil Engineering, and has over 31 years experience in the drinking water industry working with water utilities, consulting engineers, and regulatory agencies.

Bruce has extensive experience conducing comprehensive evaluations of public water systems for compliance with applicable drinking water laws and regulations. These evaluations have included water treatment facilities, operational practices, water quality monitoring programs and administrative programs. He has also provided technical assistance to public water systems of varying sizes and treatment facility complexities on issues ranging from water treatment plant performance problems to regulatory compliance issues. He is an experienced trainer, teaching operators in small group field settings as well as in conventional classroom settings.

Bruce is a registered Professional Engineer and holds California T4 water treatment and D2 distribution system operator certificates. He currently works for the California State Water Resources Control Board, Drinking Water Regulatory program.
